Measurement Calculator
Multi-mode calculator for optical power and energy measurement — photocurrent, calorimetric, pulse/average, fluence, and dBm conversions.
Optical power and energy measurements span five distinct detection methods, each with its own input quantities and conversion chain. This calculator consolidates them in one tool. Photocurrent mode converts optical power (µW) and detector responsivity (A/W) to photocurrent, then applies a transimpedance amplifier feedback resistance to give output voltage — the signal chain from photon to volt. Calorimetric mode converts water flow rate and temperature rise to absorbed power in W and kW, for high-power beam dumps and calorimeters. Pulse ↔ Average mode converts between pulse energy and average power at a given repetition rate. Fluence mode computes energy density in mJ/cm² from pulse energy and beam diameter, assuming a circular spot. dBm ↔ Watts converts between logarithmic and linear power representations in both directions, reporting mW and µW simultaneously. All five modes share a consistent interface.
